Bra Finder
Renounce the bounce with these supportive picks.

Finding the right sports bra for high-impact workouts can be challenging. Some don’t offer enough support (cue painful and distracting bouncing). Others may provide maximum support, but they’re uncomfortable and difficult to remove. Here’s what you need to know about bras for running, aerobics, soccer, basketball, or HIIT workouts, according to Tara Sweeney, Director, Technical Design – Bras, Nike.
Durable and functional, these wardrobe staples provide more support than your everyday bra. Outfitted with advanced technology, they contain and secure your breasts, cutting down on jiggle. “High-support bras are engineered to help reduce the breast displacement and movement caused by activities that are commonly associated with creating bounce, like jumping and running,” Sweeney explains.

Support is personal when it comes to your workout bra, Sweeney says. “While we usually recommend our high-support bras for running and cardio, there is a big component of preference here. A lot of consumers choose some of our light- and medium-support bras.” However, if you have a larger cup size, these bras will likely be a must for your bust — even for lower-impact activities, Sweeney adds.
To hold your breasts in place while you move, your bra should provide ample support and containment. Sweeney’s team achieves this feat via stronger fabrics, compression or stabilization zones, and or separate molded cups for each breast. At the same time, bras shouldn’t be uncomfortably tight or difficult to remove. Along with fitting properly and feeling good against your skin, bras should be made with quick-drying and breathable fabric.

Featuring mesh and Nike’s sweat-wicking Dri-FIT technology, these bras will help keep you dry. Plus, they’re easy to clean—just throw them in the washing machine after a high-intensity workout.
Since a snug and comfortable fit is key, seek an adjustable bra that will conform to your curves. To figure out your size, start with the Nike.com Sizing Guide. If you need more customizable sizing options, try the Nike Swoosh High Support bra.

“Pick styles that promote your desired movement and confidence,” Sweeney advises. The best way to do that? In the fitting room, jump up and down to ensure each bra offers the support and comfort you need.
